A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away….

(cue music here)

We have always had some sort of RV for as long as we have been married. We started out with a gateway drug called a tent trailer (by Viking). This had its drawbacks (mainly no bathroom) but it wasn’t long we were hooked on the open road. It took an incredible thunder and lightning storm in Yellowstone National Park to convince Dawn to threaten me to upgrade to anything with a bathroom or else. Well maybe it wasn’t that drastic (Dawn made me just put that in) but i do remember it was within the following weeks we moved up to an 18 foot Prowler Travel Trailer. The Prowler turned into a 24 foot Jamboree Class C which eventually turned into a 29 foot Coachman Class C. Bottom line is that our kids grew up with epic summer vacations, and Dawn and I have loved the experience of traveling the country together.

NEW CHAPTER (no pun intended)

“Picture this… Las Vegas Nevada… 2018…” As life was just plodding along with no actual end in sight, Dawn (who had officially retired the previous year) came up to me and suggested that I retire, we sell everything, buy an RV and travel the country full time… WOW… I thought she was just frustrated about something but I do remember saying “You better not be messing with me lady”. SHE WAS SERIOUS. After doing the math on retirement income we discovered that it was not only possible, it was extremely possible. So we started doing the research and set a date to retire at the end of the 2019 school year (Yes I was a Teacher).

I wont go into the ugly (and I mean UGLY) details of downsizing, but we eventually put our house on the market, lined up a great deal on our truck and also had a deal lined up on a 5th wheel. Two weeks from the launch date the deal on the 5th wheel fell through. I wont badmouth any dealerships at this time (initials of CW) but it was a classic bait and switch with some astronomical hidden fees. We did a nationwide search and found an amazing deal with A&S RV in Auburn Hills Michigan (WE LOVE THOSE GUYS) and the rest can be seen on our YouTube Channel… Don’t forget to subscribe :-)

The past few years have been amazing and as for Atka and Sierra, they were both rescues (though sometimes I wonder who rescued who) and have also loved the adventure.
